I first played this Overture when I was in the National Children’s Orchestra U13 orchestra back in 2012 and I remember absolutely loving this opening ‘movement’. I’ve always thought it would sound great for bassoon ensemble and in November 2021 I decided to arrange it. Here is a snippet of the premiere recording performed by members of the MuHo Mannheim Bassoon Class.
